Aspiration in speech is a problem that pops up when a speaker of a language adds /h/ to words that begin with a vowel, and drops the /h/ sound when it begins a word. This is amazing.

The same person who adds /h/ at the beginning of a word that begins with a vowel, swallows the same H/h/ when it begins a word! Persons with the H-factor speech problem mispronounce words like AND, EGG, HELP. In pronouncing these words, we hear them say: AND/hand/, EGG/hegg/, HELP/elp/.

It is absolutely necessary we address this speech problem because it leads to misreading, misunderstanding, and even confusion. Imagine someone asking you to, “And me hover the hegg,” when they mean, “Hand me over the egg.” Or telling you to, “Elp me hunderstand,” when they really want to say, “Help me understand.”

This problem appears inexplicable. So then, we want to present to those of you battling with this speech problem a well-tested therapy. You may share them with friends and family members who have similar speech problem. This therapy is well-tested and it has recorded over 80% success. Make it work for you, and save you some public embarrassment.

The sound of letter h is usually produced with a huge breath. This sound is what you make when you are panting.

Exercises A

1. Shut your eyes. Imagine you’ve just finished a hundred-metre race. Can you see a few persons fanning you because you’re tired and panting? Can you hear yourself panting? Let’s hear you panting now. Can you hear yourself panting?
2. Shut your eyes again. Write letter h on a surface, and produce a huge breath through your mouth. Do this over and over again. What did you hear?
3. Shut your eyes one more time. Write letter h on air, and produce a huge breath through your mouth. Repeat this over and over again.
4. Now, let your friend use their index finger to write letter h on your back while you produce a huge breath through your mouth.

Exercise B

1. Freeze your whole body for a few seconds. Do this again and again.
2. Now relax your nerves and write letters a e i o.
3. Say the names of this letters the way you’ve always said them.
4. Say the names of same letters with the sound of a huge breath—h—h-a h-e    h-i    h-o 
5. Now hold your breath. Say letters a  e  i   o. Repeat this over and over again. The sounds you make now are devoid of the sound of a huge breath—h.

3. Don’t say add when you mean had, they are not the same.
4. Don’t say at when you mean hat, they are not the same.
5. Don’t say arm when you mean harm, they are not the same.

8. Don’t say had when you mean add, they are not the same.
9. Don’t say hat when you mean at, they are not the same.
10. Don’t say harm when you mean arm, they are not the same.
11. Don’t say eat when you mean heat, they are not the same.
12. Don’t say eye when you mean high, they are not the same.
13. Don’t say earth when you mean hearth, they are not the same.
14. Don’t say h-eight when you mean eight, h-eight is not an English word.
15. Don’t say heat when you mean eat, they are not the same.
16. Don’t say high when you mean eye, they are not the same.
17. Don’t say hold when you mean old, they are not the same.
18. Don’t say hearth when you mean earth, they are not the same.
19. Don’t say and when you mean hand, they are not the same.
20. Don’t say it when you mean hit, they are not the same.
21. Don’t say is when you mean his, they are not the same.
22. Don’t say ill when you mean hill, they are not the same.
