Mrs. Augusta Akwaowo is a dedicated educator, school administrator, and author with over 30 years of impactful service in the education sector. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education from the University of Calabar and is the visionary founder and proprietress of Treasure Schools — a thriving educational institution comprising nursery, primary, and secondary levels, known for academic excellence, moral discipline, and spiritual development.
Formerly a teacher at Pegasus Schools, Mrs. Akwaowo resigned to pursue her vision of establishing Treasure Schools. Since its inception, the school has flourished under her leadership, becoming a beacon of excellence and a platform for raising confident, articulate, and God-fearing students. The school has participated in numerous academic competitions, notably representing Akwa Ibom State at the National Science Competition in Abuja, showcasing its commitment to excellence in STEM education.
A pioneer in language development, Mrs. Akwaowo was trained as a Diction in English trainer and went on to become the State Coordinator of Diction in English in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Her efforts have raised the standard of spoken English in schools across the state, leaving a lasting impact on students and educators alike.
She is the author of several educational books, including the widely acclaimed Phonics for Beginners, which supports early literacy and language development. In addition to her educational work, she is a committed Christian who sees education as a divine calling and a powerful channel for soul-winning. Her teaching philosophy integrates academic excellence with strong moral and spiritual foundations.
Mrs. Akwaowo is also an active member of professional bodies such as the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), where she continues to contribute to the advancement of quality education in Nigeria.
