James Ongwae is a highly experienced professional with more than 14 years of dedicated service in project management, organizational leadership, and educational administration. His career spans across non-profit organizations, private enterprises, and educational institutions, where he has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to lead complex projects, improve institutional systems, and foster meaningful community impact.
Driven by a passion for excellence and sustainable development, James has successfully led numerous development and research initiatives. He has coordinated academic programs, managed construction and community-based projects, developed curricula, and delivered impactful training interventions. His approach integrates strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and performance monitoring to ensure that programs meet their intended objectives within timelines and budgets.
James’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming institutions such as The Corner Brook School and Cornerstone Association (Naomi’s Village), where he served in various capacities, including Head of Learning and Programs Officer. At Kenya Projects Organization (KENPRO), he currently plays a central role in the planning, documentation, and execution of projects, training coordination, and stakeholder communication.
In addition to his hands-on project management experience, James is a strong advocate for education and community empowerment. As a former teacher and administrative principal, he has developed and implemented instructional programs that promote academic excellence and learner well-being. James holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
